“So long as the human spirit thrives on this planet, music in some living form will accompany and sustain it.” - Aaron Copland
Kicking off another exciting year as Ponoka Elementary School’s music teacher. I have been with the P.E.S. staff for many years and teaching for much, much longer! Over the years, I have taught all grades (elementary homeroom, junior and senior high English, Phys. Ed. and resource room) except for 1, 2 and 12!
It is a complete honour and joy to get to know nearly every single student in our building and to watch them grow! My goal is to have the kids experience music in many different ways and perhaps be inspired to become masterful at an instrument. Music is such an integral part of our daily lives. In recent times, we have quickly been reminded how much we rely upon the arts to enrich and enhance our lives. It is important to understand and experience music. It is a subject that works with and for all the subjects.
I have busy times outside of school with my hubs, my three sons and our two dogs, a pair of Heinz 57s that have our hearts! We love to hit the road to find different adventures around our province and Saskatchewan. I also enjoy reading, spending time with my family, playing the ukulele, practicing piano and best of all swimming!
