New Assistant Principal Appointed to Ponoka Elementary School

Mrs. Rolanda Eadie has been appointed as the new assistant principal of Ponoka Elementary School, effective the start of the 2017/2018 school year.  This vacancy became available as a result of the current assistant principal, Mrs. Nicole Rawlinson, moving to an assistant principal position at  École Lacombe Upper Elementary School.

Rolanda has been with Wolf Creek Public Schools since 1988. She has worked as an elementary and junior high teacher for the past 25 years, most recently at Rimbey Elementary School. Rolanda brings a wealth of classroom teacher experience.  Her enthusiasm and ability to build relationships as well as her literacy and technology expertise will well serve the students, staff and parents of Ponoka Elementary School.

Rolanda is a recent graduate of Wolf Creek's Aspiring Leaders program, a 2006 nominee for the Alberta Excellence in Teaching award, and a recognized Health Champion. This fall she will start a Masters in School Leadership through City University. When asked about her appointment, Rolanda stated, "I am so excited and truly honored to be the new assistant principal of Ponoka Elementary School. While I will surely miss the fabulous students and staff at R.E.S., I am looking forward to making new connections and collaborating with the students, staff, parents and community of Ponoka Elementary School. Together we will create an excellent learning environment and opportunities for growth."

“Rolanda is a highly skilled and respected teacher and community member. She brings unlimited enthusiasm and passion along with vast experience building positive school culture and fostering community relationships to this new leadership role,” said Alda Lovell, Director, People Services.
